Five Levels of Automotive Refinish Certification

A key benefit of getting certified is the recognition automotive refinish technicians receive from respected industry organizations. To help highlight our painters' skills, PPG has a certification program with five levels: Blue, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Master. After obtaining the Blue-level certification, technicians can progress by completing certain classes every two years. After eight years of qualification, they can achieve the Master Certified Technician level. Technicians earn a patch for each certification level, showcasing their dedication to excellence in their work.
